Inter-District Transfer Process
Open Enrollment Window: March 1, 2010 to April 15, 2010
Students who reside outside the Redlands Unified School District boundaries may apply for enrollment in the Redlands Unified School District. Applications for Interdistrict Attendance Permit forms are available from the student’s resident district and require approval from the resident district prior to submitting the request to the Redlands Unified School District.
Inter-district permits are granted on a space available basis and must be renewed yearly. In the event the number of permits requested exceeds capacity at the school or a specific grade level within the school, approvals shall be determined by drawing lots by student, not by family, from the eligible applicant pool. A waiting list shall then be established to indicate the order in which students may be accepted. Students whose names are on the waiting list may not be notified of availability until after the start of school.
Applications received after April 15, 2010, may be added to the waiting list in the order in which they are received but may not be acted upon until after the start of school.
If your request for transfer is granted, records for returning students will automatically be updated at your requested school. New students to the district will need to enroll as soon as possible at our Enrollment Center, located at 7 West Delaware, Redlands, CA 92373 between the hours of 7:30 am and 3:30 pm.
Conditions for approval and renewal are:
- Parent/guardian assumes responsibility for providing transportation.
- Student must make satisfactory academic progress. Satisfactory is defined as a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and credits equivalent to grade level being requested. In addition, students entering their senior year must be eligible for graduation.
- Student must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Student must maintain proper conduct at school and at school-related functions and activities.
Transfers may be revoked at any time if any of the conditions above are not met, if unexpected growth occurs at the school, or if any of the information in the transfer request application has been falsified.
