Redlands Unified School District Profile
Redlands Unified School District’s fifteen elementary schools serve kindergarten through fifth grade. Throughout the school district, class sizes have been reduced to a twenty-to-one student-teacher ratio in grades K-3.
Four middle schools—Beattie, Cope, Clement and Moore—serve grades six, seven and eight. Grades nine through twelve are served by three comprehensive high schools: Redlands High School, Redlands East Valley High School, and Citrus Valley High School.
An alternative high school setting is offered at Orangewood High School.
The Redlands Independent Study (RISE) Program and the Home Education Learning Program (HELP) are also on the Orangewood campus.
Redlands Unified School District encompasses 147 square miles and serves the communities of Redlands, Loma Linda, Mentone, Forest Falls, and portions of San Bernardino and Highland.Current enrollment in grades K-12 is 21,170.

The district serves 2,140 English-language learners. Forty-two separate languages comprise the home languages of these students.
The RUSD Child Nutrition Services Department serves approximately 6,994 hot lunches every day; 69% of these are provided to children from low- income families at no charge.
About 5,000 students ride school buses every day. The school bus fleet drives an average of 4,500 miles per day throughout the district.
Approximately 1,890 students participate in the district’s Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE).
Beyond K-12 - The Redlands Adult School offers High School Diploma completion courses and basic classes in English as a Second Language for employment purposes. For more information or to be placed on the waitlist for the High School Diploma class, call 748-6930. The Adult School office and High School diploma classes are at 820 West Stuart Avenue. The ESL classes are held at Redlands East Valley High School, 31000 Colton Avenue , in room T-6 (look for the Adult School sign on the east side of the campus).

Transfers - Parents may apply for intra-district transfers for students to attend any school within the district. The district open enrollment period is January 15 to February 15 of each year, during which time parents may apply for a transfer. Transfers are granted based on the availability of space at the school requested. If more requests are received for a school than space available, transfers shall be determined by lottery. If granted, the school requested becomes the new home school. Parents are responsible for providing transportation, and the students must maintain good attendance, grades and school conduct.
